Ryan was New York Public Interest Research Group's Campaign Coordinator on issues of solid waste. Through NYPIRG, he coordinated the Bottle Bill 40 Coalition, an alliance of over 300 organizations working to modernize the state's successful bottle deposit program. He lives in Brooklyn and is a published poet.
