As a mentor for multi-passionate creatives Rebecca Rueth cultivates community, coaches and mentors artists, and teaches online surface design courses to help creatives elevate their craft.
Join Erin Prather Stafford and her guest, Rebecca Rueth, for their chat about Rueth's career as a Surface Designer, how she helps other creatives who are thinking about pursuing surface design and raising a daughter on the Autism Spectrum.
Rueth's formal education in illustration from RISD and Surface Design from FIDM prepared her for a diverse career with a wide range of experiences. Early on, she was a technical design intern at New York & Co, Art Director at Publications International, and Graphic & Surface Designer at Guess. These in-house experiences provided her with a breadth of experience, unique insight into the Surface Design Industry, and a solid foundation for her work as a freelance Surface Designer.
Today, Rueth develops sophisticated yet easy-to-use designs for wallcoverings, prints, fashion, and textiles for the interior design, accessories, and fashion markets. When she isn't developing her own art and design projects for brands like Pottery Barn Teens & Kids, Minted, and VIDA, you can find Rueth spending time at home with her husband and daughter in Southern California or traveling in search of inspiration.
