Mindful Mixtures – Jody Pesapane & Tami Broderick

Mindful Mixtures is a family business, comprised of 2 sisters (Jody Pesapane & Tami Broderick) and one of their daughters (Taylor Broderick Tanner). We grew up in an entrepreneurial family. When our father/grandfather became ill, he discovered the power of essential oils. They offered more relief than other remedies he had tried. This discovery, unfortunately for him, came too late as he passed away in October of 2013. We were inspired by his findings and spent the next 18 months educating ourselves and researching the wide-ranging benefits of plants. In April of 2015, Mindful Mixtures was born, with the intent to educate and empower people to take control of their own health. We spent three years working at local pop up events where we would sell directly to the public. We went door to door to retail shops showing owners our products, met with local growers to source the best ingredients, and hosted educational classes on the benefits of essential oils and plants. In 2017 we took a chance and signed up to be in the Las Vegas Market Show to get ourselves in front of wholesalers. We spent our entire bank account, leaving $15 in our checking account. On the very last day of the trade show we met the Grommet, an online marketplace and product discovery platform for small businesses. Through Grommet, As Seen on TV discovered us. This opportunity has put us on the map and has allowed us to reach families all over the nation. With each opportunity, we are getting one step closer to changing the way the world looks at health care.
