As the year winds down…

2014 is coming to a close…how remarkable is that!?!

I don’t know about you, but it seems like yesterday that the world was so worried about Y2K and what would happen when the computers turned to 2000 – people were stocking up on water and food, pulling money out the bank to stash, fulling up their gas tanks and extra gas cans and so much more…and then…the new century began without a hitch!

For me, I did none of these things…I just excitedly anticipated the beginning of a new year, a new century, a new day…and, in a few short weeks, that day was 15 years ago! Life has a way of just speeding by and changing right before our eyes, and gives us so many ways to be better than we were the day before. Its funny, I saw a post that asked, “If you could go back a year and change things, what would you do?” My first reaction was that I would change nothing because, no matter what, the choices we make are part of the journey. Even when we make a “mistake” it means that we are trying to do something with our lives instead of just staying where we are.

Have everythingOne of my favorite sayings is, “Life offers us a second chance, its called tomorrow.” I have always loved this – and then realized that we are given “second chances” every moment of the day…how wonderful. ¬†Every day we are given the opportunity to be better than we were the day before; each moment is one we have never known before and the unknown is what makes it so marvelous. We are here to create our best self and I for one am up to the challenge! I welcome the gift of the present and look to becoming the best me every day.

As we say goodbye to 2014 and hello the the 15th year of the 21st century lets make the best today we can everyday. Share the best of you…what a gift to the world…
